According to data from the London Metal Exchange (LME), copper stockpiles reached a five-year high on August 29 but have since decreased, with last week’s inventory dropping to 297,300 tons, marking a two-month low.
The latest data from the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) showed that copper inventories continued to decline, falling by 14.87% to 140,408 tons, the lowest in seven months. As of September 30, SHFE copper stocks rose slightly by 1,217 tons to 141,625 tons.
In contrast, New York copper inventory increased to 71,899 tons, reaching a two-year high.
