Stainless Steel Powder for supersonic gas dynamic cold spray
Cold spray coating is a more advanced coating technology. It accelerates metal particles to critical speeds (supersonic) using compressed air. Upon reaching this speed, the metal particles physically deform as they impact the substrate surface. The particles flatten upon impact and firmly adhere to the substrate. Throughout this process, the metal particles do not melt. However, if the metal particles do not reach supersonic speeds, they will not adhere.
Compared to traditional thermal spray coating, cold spray coating has many advantages. Firstly, the instantaneous temperature of the coated substrate does not exceed 150 degrees Celsius. Secondly, the coating has good density and can be sprayed to any desired thickness. Additionally, cold spray coating can be applied to any surface, be it metal, glass, ceramic, or rock.
We offer supersonic cold spray stainless steel powder prepared using the water atomization method, effectively reducing the cost of the powder. An improved process ensures that the oxygen content and fluidity of the powder meet the conditions for cold spraying, achieving a deposition efficiency of over 80%.
Commonly used product grades for cold spraying include: 316L, 304L, 430L, 420, and 440C.
Typical particle sizes range from 15 to 40µm.
